Hi friend! I’m Heidi Caperton, a writer, and graphic designer who believes everyone has an important story to share. Through interviews, writing, and design, I help families and individuals capture memories and preserve personal histories that will leave lasting legacies to future generations.

My passion for stories stems from a desire to preserve my memories from growing up in the mountains of Colorado. I lived in a town where the nearest grocery store was 10 miles away, but my grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins were within walking distance. As the family moved from Colorado and spread out across the country, I wanted a way to preserve those memories so my nieces and nephews would know what it was like to grow up in a different place. But mostly so they would always remember the importance of family. 

Every time I interview someone, there is a moment when an old forgotten memory sparks to life. At that moment, they don’t just see the memory, but a deeper meaning of what is truly important in their life. That is the moment that pushes me to bring more stories to life.

My career has seen many iterations; I graduated with a B.A. in English - Creative Writing from the University of Houston and worked for IT companies, and non-profits. In 2008 started my own marketing consulting company. No matter what the job was, it has always involved telling a compelling and impactful story. In 2020 I received my Distinguished Toastmaster from Toastmasters International and continue to share stories from stages – virtually and in person.

I write, read, and collect stories from my home office with a fluffy white Bichon Frise named at my feet. My husband and I love traveling this beautiful country but are always grateful to come home to Houston, Texas, and spend time with our families.
